3-point security hardware sets your artwork more securely attached to the wall than with any traditional method such as wire or d-rings over picture hooks.
3-point security hardware is a system that helps prevent theft or tampering with the artwork, which is why the interior design industry considers it the standard hanging solution for public or high-traffic areas of a facility. This system is perfect for the display of artwork in lobbies, hallways, clubhouses, etc.
So, how does this system work?
A 3-point security hardware system is composed of three brackets attached to the back of the artwork and three pieces of hardware that are anchored into the wall.
When completely installed, the artwork is held flush against the wall from the top corners to bottom.
The wall parts of the mounting system are composed of two offsets and a specially designed “T-screw.” These components need to be very precisely positioned and anchored into the wall for the art and wall to “connect“ and be locked in place.
The installation is not complete until the artwork is secure: a simple 1/4 turn applied to the T-screw at the bottom, using a specially designed wrench, locks it in place.
When artwork is much larger than standard, it can sometimes warp and pull away from the wall at the bottom corners. In such situation we typically use two T-screws instead of one to hold the bottom corners close to the wall.
The result, as seen here in the last two photos, is a piece of art that is evenly flush to the wall from top to bottom, secure, and stable (stays level).
No more art disappearing from the wall or going out of alignment when someone accidentally bumps into it!
The precise nature of this entire operation requires a trained experienced technician.
